Job Purpose

To develop and co-ordinate actions required for the Council to protect Council properties from Damp and Mould by providing education to tenants, arranging repairs and liaising across the repairs team to ensure an effective service. This will include being proactive in providing information, advice, and support for tenants.

To provide impartial and confidential Damp and Mould advice to tenants of Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council. This will include contacting tenants, visiting properties and developing actions plans to ensure excellent service across the Brough.

Main Activities (Corporate)

Be committed to the Council’s Vision and carry out work within the spirit and intention of its core values.

An understanding and awareness of the concept of “Making Every Contact Count” (MECC), attending training where necessary.

To make full use of technology available to improve communications and services.

To carry out all work within the spirit and intention of equal opportunities and the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and all other employment legislation.

To foster a creative and open environment within the Unit where employees feel supported, involved and consulted.

To be proactive in identifying opportunities for improvements in service delivery.

To undertake personal development commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the job.

Criteria

Experience of working in a social housing environment.

Experience of working with customers, both face to face and over the telephone.

Experience of giving advice on and supporting customers in Social Housing.

Experience of producing reports & interpret complex information.

Level 4 certificate in Housing or willing to work towards

Knowledge of the Social Housing Regulation laws.

Good knowledge and ability to use computer software such as Microsoft Office, to include Word and Excel.

Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.

Good planning and personal organisation skills.

Ability to deal effectively with challenging situations and resolve customer enquiries/ complaints.

Knowledge of networking and developing working partnerships in order to deliver and improve the service.

Ability to produce reports and communicate at all levels with a varied audience.

Ability to plan and organise workload in order to meet deadlines that can be unpredictable and cause conflicting demands.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 8 months

**Salary**: From £15.25 per hour
