Maternity Support Worker

You will work according to Trust standards, policies and procedures and is accountable and responsible to the trained midwifery team

Be aware of developments in maternity practice to be able to support trained staff in the provision of safe care to women and their families using the maternity service

Torbay hospital maternity unit has approximately 2000 births per year. We provide care to families from diverse backgrounds across Torbay and South Devon. We have an 8 bedded delivery suite with a bereavement room, an 18 bedded ante/postnatal ward and we also have a 2 room midwife led birth center in Newton Abbot Hospital.

We are using the electronic patient record and have an exciting time ahead with the introduction of our specially designed IT system.
