Successful applicant will be required to prepare and cook food for 16 residents and catering events, follow recipes and presentation specifications, operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances. Ensure the kitchen is clean and sanitized at all times.
**Key Responsibilities**
Plan weekly menus that align with the residents’ dietary needs and restrictions.
Oversea kitchen budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring cost effective culinary operations.
Source and select high quality produce and ingredients from a variety of suppliers at competitive prices.
Continuously evaluate and diversify suppler options to optimise cost savings.
Implement effective inventory management practices to reduced food waste and maintain optimal stock levels.
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, following recipes and portion control guidelines.
Monitor ingredient freshness and ensure timely use to maintain quality standards.
Uphold stringent food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Maintain clean and organised workspaces.
**Qualifications/Experience**
Relevant qualification in food/preparation cooking
Level 2 in Health & Safety and Food Hygiene, desirable
Proven experience as a chef/cook
Sound knowledge of cooking methods and techniques
Exceptional budget management skills and demonstratable ability to work within financial constraints.
Proficiency in menu planning, recipe creation and portion control.
Knowledge of inventory management techniques to minimise waste.
Excellent organisational and communication.
