Senior Social Media Journalist

This role is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Social Media Journalist to join the Sky Sports Social team. You will work as part of a wider team creating & publishing world-class content to the Sky Sports network of YouTube & social media channels. The role with have a particular focus on Boxing.

What you'll do
- Promote the best of our boxing video content using techniques suited to each social platform, as well as producing engaging and effective social video and graphics.
- Work closely with video production and editorial teams to make sure our social output is fully aligned with all output streams
- Creating live action clips to SLA requirements
- Come up with innovative ways of promoting our hero events with special one-off campaigns
- Lead Sky Sports boxing social media coverage throughout the year and lead a team of social media journalists and APs for major boxing events
- Demonstrate an understanding of editorial processes with a keen interest in to developing their own news judgement.
- Contribute new ideas and propositions to ensure the continued evolution of Sky Sports digital and social platforms.
- Maintain an excellent knowledge of boxing issues, stories and rival publishers.
- Support the planning and delivery of live streams to multiple social platforms.
- Liaise with key stakeholders across Sky to deliver engaging promotional material of the highest standard.
- Mentor Junior Social Media journalists, supporting their development as members of the Sky Sports social team.
- Support Sky and Sky Sports in the promotion of “Force for Good” initiatives.

What you’ll bring
- Professional sports social media or sports journalism experience in the digital space.
- High levels of motivation and creativity with a passion and extensive knowledge of sports.
- A team player mentality, believing in collaboration, adaptability, initiative, and desire to go above and beyond for your peers.
- In-depth knowledge of YouTube & all major social platforms.
- Experience using Premiere Pro & Adobe suite.
- Demonstratable experience of working in a fast-paced sport publishing environment with tight deadlines.
- A calm, organised and methodical approach to work, including the ability to prioritise.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to provide quick resolution to problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A strong work ethic and a willingness to get involved in all aspects of the business when necessary.
