This is an exciting opportunity for a Family & Systemic Psychotherapist to join our existing team of 2 other Family Therapists within Swansea Bay CAMHS. The post holder will lead on the family and systemic therapy and practice in the CAMHS Eating Disorders team, while also having the opportunity to share the delivery of this with other members of the team. There will also be the possibility for the post holder to undertake some of their clinical work more broadly in CAMHS.
Swansea Bay CAMHS has recently repatriated back to Swansea Bay UHB, having previously been part of the clinical network. This is an exciting time of positive change for the service. The family therapy team form a valued part of the Psychology and Psychological Therapy (P&PT) team, a supportive and expanding team which also consists of psychologists, art therapists, CBT therapists, a play therapist and assistant psychologist. The P&PT team meet regularly for peer supervision and reflective clinical discussions. The team is highly valued by CAMHS colleagues and across the network of children's services.
The role will involve direct clinical work with CYP and their families, with a focus on children accessing support through the Eating Disorders team. There will also be opportunities for consultation, supervision and training. The post holder will be expected to work closely with the other Family & Systemic Psychotherapists, to plan and deliver the family therapy service across CAMHS. The post holder will also work closely with the P&PT team and will be accountable to the Lead for this team. Line management and supervision arrangements will depend on the banding and will be discussed and agreed at the time of appointment.
CAMHS and the P&PT team are developing and evolving their ways of working and the post holder will have the opportunity to contribute to this planning and to other service developments. Evidence based practice is supported and value is placed on the provision of practice based evidence. There is an ongoing training strategy within CAMHS and the post holder will be part of delivering this and will have opportunities for their own CPD.
Swansea Bay CAMHS are embedding into the structures in Swansea Bay UHB, and the P&PT team are part of the broader child psychology and psychological therapy department. This is a growing, friendly and supportive network and there are opportunities to meet regularly for shared CPD, clinical discussions and professional support.
