An interesting and exciting opportunity has risen for Band 3 Primary Care Clinical support worker. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and proactive individual to join our healthcare team at HMP Lancaster Farms. The team includes a wide range of experienced, skilled individuals including nurses, paramedics, clinical support workers, pharmacy technicians, pharmacist, ANP, physiotherapist, administration support workers and more.

You will become part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team, using your skills, experience and knowledge to help define and deliver care to those with often complex needs. As well as providing excellent care to service users, you will also support colleagues in developing the service.

There are gym facilities on site and as a team that understands and promotes the importance of health and wellbeing, you will have access to this.

Medication administration

Clinical support worker led clinics such as NHS Health checks, Phlebotomy, ECG and QOF related reviews

Supporting registered nurses in delivering emergency care as well as assessing and reviewing patients.

Blood borne virus and sexual health screening

First and second night initial reception screening

Health promotion

The post holder will provide a primary care physical/mental health service and will operate as part of a multi-disciplinary team, assisting and supporting others in undertaking physical and/or health assessments, providing a range of health treatments and interventions in order to meet prisoner healthcare needs and contribute to the wider continuous development of prison healthcare services. This will include being able to demonstrate a range of knowledge, skills and understanding of health issues and treatment options to provide clinical guidance to all patients on matters relating to physical health and wellbeing. The post holder will undertake delegated duties covering the patient journey from reception of prisoners into prison through to their discharge through the gate. They will exercise good clinical knowledge, levels of judgement, discretion and decision making in clinical care demonstrated through the advanced competency framework.
