Then read on, as we have a vacant role for a new Senior / Planning Policy Officer to join our Place Shaping Team.

**What you could be part of**

You will be part of a committed and forward-thinking Spatial Planning team working as one team across two Councils and as part of the Greater Norwich Local Plan team. You will be contributing to the preparation, implementation, monitoring and review of theCouncils’ Local Plan, associated policies and strategies and undertaking community and infrastructure planning work with internal and external colleagues.

**What you’ll be doing**
- Researching and preparing policy documents, committee reports, proofs of evidence and background evidence studies etc.
- Presenting information and advice to elected members, agents, landowners, applicants and the general public in writing, face to face and by telephone.
- Organising and representing the Councils at consultation exercises, public meetings, exhibitions and public inquiries, including producing and presenting evidence.
- Representing the Councils at appropriate external meetings and events, working groups and advisory bodies at local, regional and national events.
- Ensuring the timely production of planning documents, in accordance with the local development scheme, and other projects. This will include research, evidence gathering, community engagement, policy writing and the production and presentation of evidenceat public inquiries.

**You must have**
- A minimum of 1 year’s post-qualification experience in a planning environment.
- An ability to demonstrate practical skills required in the planning discipline.
- The ability to progress multiple complex projects simultaneously and work across disciplines to achieve shared objectives.
- An ability to prepare reports on complex issues which may need to be presented orally and in writing and be able to deal with any subsequent enquiries.
- The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines demonstrating strong organisational and prioritisation techniques.
