**Role Overview**:
The successful applicant will be required to undertake observations, assess and support family time within a supervised contact between parents and children.

You will also support reunification plans if children are returned to their parents care and complete direct work with children and young people who are Looked After.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- To make accurate observations and recordings of supervised family time between parents and children which will be used to support social work assessments in court.
- To support and offer advice and practical guidance to parents in all aspects of parenting.
- Coordinate and support family time for children who remain in long term care.
- To visit and support families in their home if children have been returned to their parent’s care following the court process.
- To undertake direct work with children and young people and complete Life story books.

**Key Requirements**:
To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:

- A good knowledge of child development and childcare practice.
- Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills.
