**£11.50p/h (£23,920 a year based on a 40-hour working week)**

**We are looking for a friendly reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Red Gables part-time**

Westheath Care Homes (Staffing) Ltd provides care staff to five care homes owned and operated by a private company they are located in Bodmin, Lanivet, Lewannick (Nr Launceston) and Bude area.

All of which have obtained and maintained a ‘Good’ CQC rating.

We provide high standards of person-centred care to a wide range of elderly and disabled people from St Austell on the South coast to Bude on the North coast with a dedicated team of Care assistants and a strong team of experienced managers that have a high number of years working in care.

An Interview, reference and an Enhanced DBS check will be carried out by the company on you prior to final confirmation of a job offer (this will be paid for by the company - but maybe repaid to the company should you leave within a 3-month period)

**Key Requirements**
- Carry out reasonable instructions given by the Lead Cook / Cook and/or Home Manager.
- Food preparation, washing, chopping, and cutting up produce
- To ensure that the kitchen and related areas are always maintained in a clean and safe condition, observing, and maintaining food hygiene standards.
- To ensure that all kitchen equipment and kitchen areas are cleaned according to the cleaning schedules.
- To ensure statutory and Company Health and Safety Regulations are adhered to.
- To ensure correct storage of all dry and perishable cook chill goods as soon as possible after receipt and checking - ensuring good stock rotation.
- To ensure the correct, safe storage of cleaning materials.
- To ensure that all pots, pans, and cooking utensils are cleaned to the required standards and correctly stored after cleaning.
- To maintain a good level of personal presentation.
- To attend meeting & training sessions when required.
- Ensure compliance with the Safer Food Better Business Folder (SFBB), by reading and completing all relevant sections.
- Participate in staff meetings and in staff training where applicable.
- Report and record in the appropriate manner any information considered to be important to the Homes Manager.
- Adhere to Westheath Care Homes policies and procedures.
- Any other duties that the post holder may reasonably be expected to perform.
- Regular supervisions and appraisals
- Mandatory training
- Full PPE and uniform provided

**In return, you can expect competitive rates of pay, a minimum number of contracted hours per week and an equivalent to 6 weeks of annual leave per employment year (this will be your weekly contracted hours x 6)**
