**Senior Orthopaedic Trauma Fellow Post**

Applications are invited for the above post at the Queen's Medical Centre campus of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust for August 2023 - August 2024. The successful applicant will work in the Orthopaedic Trauma unit at the Queen's Medical Centre Campus, which is the busiest Major Trauma Centre in the United Kingdom.

Applications require full GMC registration and UK NHS experience.

Main duties of the job

- In-patient accountabilities require reception and management of emergency referrals for injured patients from the Emergency Department along with elective patients under the direction of respective consultants
- Routine ward responsibilities transfer and discharge summaries and operating theatre duties are a key component of the Senior Trauma Fellow role
- Out-patient responsibilities will include orthopaedic fracture clinics
- Teaching Medical Students

- MB BS (or equivalent)
- Full GMC registration

Desirable criteria

Post Graduate Qualification

Essential criteria
- Evidence of training progression FRCS orth, FRCSC, FRACS

Desirable criteria
- Higher Degree or on point of completing

Experience

Essential criteria
- Recent experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems & practices (or equivalent).
- At least 4 years experience in Orthopaedics Complete or approaching completion of SpR Training.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
- Willing to seek help from senior colleagues as appropriate.

Clinical Skills

- Competent in history taking and examination Skills.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

Essential criteria
- Able to communicate effectively with patients and their relatives.

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
