The purpose of the role:
The main duties of the Practitioner will be:

- To ensure the provision of a high quality inclusive environment, meeting the needs of individual children and families. Creating a safe and welcoming environment at all times.
- To be aware of, and fully understand Richmond Playgroup’s policies and procedures and ensure these are adhered to at all times
- To share responsibility for the welfare of all the children at Richmond Playgroup, following systems to ensure consistent, high-quality care
- To be knowledgeable and vigilant in order to protect children from harm or abuse, reporting any safeguarding concerns immediately - in accordance with Richmond Playgroup’s child protection and whistleblowing policies
- To be reliable and punctual, maintaining staffing ratios at all times
- To reflect on practice and daily routines, tailoring them to meet the individual needs of each child, throughout the day
- To contribute to planning and the provision of a stimulating range of age appropriate activities and ensuring the Playgroup is well-resourced and creatively set-up
- To contribute to observations and the assessment of children’s learning and development ensuring records are kept up-to-date, are of a high standard and are shared effectively
- To provide feedback and work in partnership with parents/carers, building and maintaining relationships that encourage trust, open communication and involvement in Playgroup
- To ensure confidentiality of both the Playgroup, Staff, Children and their families, is maintained at all times
- To encourage the children in attendance and parents in the provision of a healthy and balanced diet.
- To ensure statutory requirements for early years are implemented, establishing high standards of hygiene and a safe environment for all
- To be professional and a good role model to the children and other staff members, at all times
- To attend reasonable out-of-working-hours activities, including training, staff meetings, parents evenings and special events
- To be aware of the high profile of the setting and to uphold its standards at all times both within work and outside of working hours
- To undertake any other duties in accordance with the setting’s business objectives, and that required by the Playgroup Manager/Deputy Manager.

We are looking for someone who has:

- Experience of supporting an early years and childcare setting
- A relevant qualification - Minimum level 3
- You must have excellent understanding of the EYFS and be capable of maintaining children’s development records
- Someone who is warm, friendly, responsive, honest, trustworthy and reliable with a flexible approach and a strong team player.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
