Job Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Director to join our team. As an Activities Director, you will be responsible for planning and organizing engaging activities for residents in our assisted living facility. Your role will be crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our residents and promoting a sense of community within our care home. Responsibilities: - Develop and implement a diverse range of activities and programs to meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of our residents - Coordinate and schedule activities, ensuring a well-balanced calendar that caters to different interests and abilities - Lead group activities such as exercise classes, arts and crafts sessions, games, music therapy, and outings - Provide one-on-one support to residents who require individualized attention or have specific care needs - Collaborate with other staff members to integrate activities into the overall care plan for each resident - Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress - Communicate regularly with residents' families to keep them informed about upcoming activities and events - Stay updated on current trends and best practices in senior care, dementia care, and therapeutic recreation Qualifications: - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - Genuine care and compassion for seniors - Previous experience in assisted living, senior care, or nursing home settings is preferred - Knowledge of dementia care techniques is a plus - Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively - Ability to work independently as well as part of a team - Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed We offer competitive compensation and benefits packages.
