- Build and maintain relationship with families, people we support and their circle of support.
- Lead and act as the first point of contact in the absence of the Support manager
- Take responsibility for full and accurate communication at handover;
- Maintain and check the accuracy of the financial records of the people we support;
- Model person centred practice and contribute to the induction and support of new and less experienced support worker colleagues;
- Lead by example and act as a role model to staff at all times, ensuring the needs of the people we support, their interests and aspirations are paramount in all that you do;
- Lead and manage your team adopting an empowering, engaging and motivating approach, encouraging them to make a difference to people’s daily lives, whilst providing the highest quality of care and support;
- Ensure that all of Coquet Trust’s policies and procedures are adhered to and that the staff you lead do the same;
- Ensure that the Trust’s Health & Safety requirements are met and adhered to in line with their policies and procedures by undertaking periodic checks and recording them correctly for auditing purposes;
- To be accountable for, in conjunction with the Support Manager, the safety and wellbeing of the people we support in line with Coquet Trust safeguarding policies, statutory requirements and local authority protocols;
- Support their line Manager to monitor and manage the performance of individual team members, including their capability, sickness levels and compliance with mandatory training for their role;
- Promote positive Risk Taking, Active Support and Positive Behaviour Support.
- Assist with the induction of new support staff, identifying any training needs and ensuring this is delivered in a timely manner;
- Ensure that support plans reflect the changing needs and wishes of the people we support by contributing to regular monitoring and review.

- Have experience of leading, developing and motivating team members in order to deliver a quality service to the people that we support;
- To be flexible in your approach to work and be prepared to work at different locations or wherever it is deemed that you are able to contribute most effectively to the overall service;
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
- Clear written and verbal communication style;
- IT skills and numerical ability;
- Willing to undertake required training, sometimes off site and outside normal working hours;
- Willing and able to travel between locations as required;
- Available for flexible working patterns including evenings, weekends, sleep-ins and nights as required;
- Experience of communicating with professionals or other agencies;
**Knowledge and qualifications** **Essential**
- NVQ in Lead Adult Care Worker, Level 3 or equivalent. Someone working towards a level 3 qualification or committed to studying level 3 would be considered.
- Comfortable in using Web and App based technologies
- Experience in working with learning disabilities or physical disabilities.
- Strong communication and delegation skills.
- Familiarity with CQC standards, Mental Capacity Act, GDPR
- Full clean UK driving licence.

**Salary**: £23,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
