**Salary**:£10.78 per hour

**Contract/duration**:until 31st December 2024

**Hours/working pattern**:This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. You'll work more hours during our busier periods such as school holidays and less in our quieter months covering a 7 day rota. Rotas are issued in advance and we'll always try to accommodate other commitments where possible. Weekend working will be required.

What it's like to work here:The role is annualised, which means during our open season (March - October) and for 3 weeks in December you will work 3 days per week, but not at all or 1-2 days during our quiet and closed periods, however your annual salary is divided by 12, so you get your salary in equal instalments each month.

Owned by the same increasingly impoverished family until 1991, the house remained essentially unchanged for nearly 400 years as the interiors and contents gradually succumbed to the ravages of time. With virtually no intrusion from the 21st century, this fascinating place exudes an informal and timeless atmosphere in a gloriously unspoilt setting.

We don't have a shop or tea-room, so you can truly imagine you have stepped back in time. What you'll be doing:With the support of more senior team members, you will be the go-to team member for the day-to-day activities on site. This will include opening and closing the house and gardens and ensuring presentation is at its best, briefing volunteers and being a point of contact for them throughout the day, as one of the public faces of our property, you’ll offer visitor’s a friendly welcome, give information about the property, answer questions and make sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit.

No two days are the same, you'll offer the property leadership team support in ensuring that the visitor journey is excellent, through supporting office admin, helping out with the bookshop or helping to set up for an event.
