**Job Purpose**
To be responsible for undertaking the duties identified with above role as requested by the Line Manager in accordance with School requirements.
The post will require the Associate Tutor to undertake work during specific periods of School Placements for M.Educ and PGDE students.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

1. To undertake assessment of student teachers on placement in accordance with the requirements of the School of Education school experience partnership.
2. To participate fully in the School of Education Partnership process employing a variety of appropriate methods and techniques and to provide effective and timely feedback, both formative and summative, in support of student learning.
3. To undertake other duties as appropriate, in consultation and agreement with the relevant Line Manager.

**Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience**

**Knowledge/Qualifications**

**Essential**:
A3 An established track record of development and delivery of teaching including CPD.
A4 An understanding of the research/scholarship that underpins learning and teaching.
A5 Substantial post qualification experience working in a school setting.
A6 Current registration with the General teaching Council of Scotland

**Desirable**:

B1 Experience of working in a research-led environment including supervision of student projects / dissertations.

**Skills**

**Essential**:

C1 Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
C2 Excellent interpersonal skills and presentation skills.
C3 Excellent time management skills.
C4 Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

**Experience**

**Essential**:

E1 Demonstrable post qualification experience in teacher education.

**Desirable**:

F1 Experience in a leadership role.


**Terms and Conditions**
Salary will be Grade 8, £46,047 - £53,353 per annum, pro-rata.
This post is part time 0.2 FTE and open ended.
