You will be joining a hardworking, friendly team and will be working alongside the group Finance Manager to support the day to day running of the accounts function.
The successful Accounts Assistant will be a pro-active, self-motivated individual who is willing to learn new processes and evolve their role and duties.
**Duties for this Accounts Assistant role will include, but not be limited to**:
- Process invoices through the accounting software and reconcile to purchase orders
- Raise payments to suppliers on a timely and most cash-efficient way
- Reconcile supplier statements on a regular basis and clear queries arising
- Analysis and process of monthly company credit cards
- Raise credits for returns, pricing errors, cancelled orders, NCPs etc
- Input bank transactions for all UK bank accounts
- Process Sales Ledger invoices and receipts
- Assist in preparing the Year-end audit file to ensure that all information is ready and available in time for the audit.
- Aid in budgeting process
- Preparation of accruals for costs not yet received at month end
- Preparation of prepayments for charges not yet due at month end
- Preparing monthly Balance Sheet reconciliation for review
- Assist with queries that arise from internal and external customers
- Investigate questionable data
- Recommend actions to resolve discrepancies
**The successful Accounts Assistant will have / be**:
- Previous experience of working as an Accounts Assistant
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage own workload
- Drive and ambition with a can-do attitude
- Be self-motivated and comfortable working in both an individual and a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain professional relationships at all levels
- Inquisitive and understand processes with the initiative to drive improvement
- A proactive approach to their own development and progression
- Experience with the use of Accounting software programs an advantage
- A high skill level of Microsoft Office in particular, Outlook, Word, Excel
You will need:
- Minimum 3 years in similar accounts position
- Attention to detail
- Good understanding of book-keeping principles and office practice
- Excellent MS Excel skills i.e. Pivot tables, vlookups, sumif
- Excellent organisational skills and time management
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
