**Role: Residential Support Worker**

**Salary: £25,600 - £27,600 (depending on qualification **plus additional Sleep in allowance of £50 per shift)**

**Location**:Gateshead, Tyne and Wear**

**Contract/Hours: Permanent Full-time 37hrs per week**

**About the service**

Ayton Villa provides long-term residential care for children & young people who are looked after.

**A bit about the role**

The young peoples care will involve professional practice that is sensitive to their trauma history.

Our therapeutic model will provide an environment where they will receive positive experiences of reliable, consistent parenting through providing specific and structured care, with very clear consistent boundaries.

You'll be working within a supportive team, with your Registered Manager, Team Leader, and fellow Residential Support Workers there every step of the way to guide and assist you.

As part of your induction, we are committed to providing you with comprehensive training which includes instruction on the therapeutic model including therapeutic intervention, and supporting mental wellbeing.

Our goal is to equip you with the necessary tools to excel in your role and confidently carry out your responsibilities.

**How you'll help to create brighter futures**
- Working therapeutically to support our young people through early life trauma.
- Working towards identified outcomes and goals to give them a positive future
- Helping them in all aspects of their daily lives (including personal care) and supporting their health and happiness, helping them to work towards identified outcomes and goals
- Helping to promote independence
- Maintaining safeguarding practices within the service

**Let's talk about you**
- A Level 3 Social Care Diploma or equivalent or willingness to work towards
- Experience in a trauma informed setting, residential short breaks or children's services
- Awareness and experience of supporting young people with mental wellbeing is advantageous
- Experience of clear, concise record keeping via IT systems
- Understanding of GDPR, Safeguarding and relevant policies
- A clean driving license with access to a car with business insurance is advantageous
