Our client based in Middlewich is currently looking to recruit a** Compliance Manager** on a permanent basis...

To ensure that the business's procedures and activities are aligned and compliant with current Environmental Legislation. To ensure the Laboratory and Compliance department is adequately staffed; resourced and effective.
- Review current and upcoming Environmental Legislation and guidance and advise senior management of any changes that might impact the Business
- Ensure all waste received is pre-assessed, characterised and classified in accordance with current legislation
- Ensure the details and location of all waste deposits are accurately recorded and can be easily accessed
- Provide training and mentoring to Technical Assessors
- Provide advice and training on compliance matters to senior management and the Business, as required.
- Establish a priority list and schedule of third-party disposal sites that require a Duty of Care audit.
- Ensure Duty of Care audits are completed as per schedule.
- Ensure the provision of accurate quarterly returns to the Environment Agency
- Create and maintain procedures and work instructions for laboratory processes.
- Ensure laboratory is appropriately equipped and the kit is fit for purpose

**Requirements**:
Must be at minimum qualified - HNC in Chemistry (or applicable scientific field).

Desirable:

- Previous hazardous waste management experience (>5 year).
- CoTC level 4 for hazardous waste transfer
- Detailed knowledge of Guidance on the classification and assessment of waste Technical Guidance WM3 Waste Classification
- An awareness of Sector Guidance Note S5.06 Guidance for the Recovery and Disposal of Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste or its replacement.
- Knowledge of HSG71 Chemical Warehousing - the storage of packaged dangerous substances
- ADR/CDG awareness training

**Salary**: £40,000

**Hours**: 40 hours per week, 07:00 - 16:00 (Mon - Fri)
