**Business Contribution**:
The function of the Workshop Supervisor is to assist the Operations Supervisor with the daily operations of the Workshop, management of the Workshop team and monthly reporting requirements.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Work closely with the Operations Supervisor to ensure that the Workshop staff have sufficient workload through use of verbal and visual management techniques
- Supervise Workshop manpower to ensure full utilization and customer service targets are met
- Working with Workshop employees everyday to produce efficient working practices, ensure costs are controlled, work is planned logically, overtime is controlled in line with business demand
- Manage and coordinate non-standard workload, ensuring all requirements are met in the given timeframe
- Manage and coordinate the Workshop staff and processes of the factory to ensure established deadlines are met
- Monitor product quality inspections and take action to maintain customer quality as required
- Carry out quality checks on equipment and certification produced by the Team
- Complete inspection/repair reports when requested by Customers
- Develop staff and self to ensure that the appropriate knowledge and skills are within the workforce
- Ensure all enquiries relating to the factory are dealt with efficiently and in a professional manner
- Monitor in-house calibrations and schedule booking for outsourced certification
- Monitor and ensure training requirements for all personnel are compliant and records are maintained
- Drive a just and fair performance management culture within teams and appropriately manage people related issues
- Promote an environment where reporting of safety and quality incidents are proactively reported as input for continuous improvement
- Support and develop direct reports, managing performance and encouraging team working
- Adhere to the company’s procedures in relation to the Quality Management and Environmental systems
- Complete any ad-hoc duties as requested by the Line Manager
- Represent the Company in a professional manner at all times, both internally and externally
- Follow the published processes and comply with all company policies and procedures
- Be an ambassador for the businesses, in particular ensure that Health & Safety comes first at all times
- To intervene and report any defect in equipment or practice or any dangerous circumstance or event which could affect HSEQ performance
- To actively propose and implement improvements to HSSEQ systems
- To cooperate with the company in achieving HSSEQ objectives
- To participate fully in Continuous Improvement (LEAD ) activities where necessary & when required

**Required Capabilities**:

- Good basic educational background, with English and Maths to GCSE or equivalent as a minimum
- A qualification in mechanical engineering
- Good working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word)
- Good working knowledge of time management practices
- Demonstratable leadership qualities
- Flexible to work outside specific tasks
- Must be able to provide cover for other team members as and when required
- Must be flexible to work overtime at month end or as and when required
