Activities at The Carnegie Club
- The Skibo estate covers 8,000 acres, stretching from the shore of the Dornoch Firth through links land, parkland, lochs and forest, to heights of our expansive moor to the north.
- This diverse environment provides the backdrop for our Activities team to lead members and guests of all ages in a variety of outdoor pursuits, from clay pigeon shooting and archery to quad biking and cycling.
- This spring, our new activities hub - the Treehouse at Overskibo - will open and we will introduce a range of new exciting experiences, including paddleboarding, hiking and more

About the role
- This is a unique opportunity to start in a brand-new role based in the Treehouse at Overskibo, the Club’s launchpad for outdoor activities at Skibo.
- Elevated on a platform deep in Overskibo’s woodland, the Treehouse is where members go to prepare for and unwind after outdoor adventures of all sorts, from mountain biking to archery to paddleboarding.
- You’ll be the first point of contact for visitors to the Treehouse, working to accommodate all manner of questions and requests you receive there.
- From assisting with the daily scheduling of activities to getting to know the individual needs and characters of our members and guests, you'll be expected to rise to any challenge and go above and beyond our members' expectations.
- You'll manage our internal booking system, coordinating effectively with other departments to ensure the highest levels of administration and attention to detail, and facilitate personalised, memorable experiences for our members and guests.

Who we are looking for
- You're a positive, confident individual who will encourage members and guests to get out of their comfort zones and experience all that Overskibo has to offer
- You have an impeccable eye for detail and can work independently to keep the Treehouse running smoothly and looking its best.
- You love spending time in nature and have an interest in outdoor adventure sports.
- A strong team player, you thrive on problem solving and enjoy working with colleagues from across all departments to ensure any requests are dealt with swiftly and to a high standard.
- You're happy dealing with guests face-to-face and take a pro-active approach to your work.
- You have strong IT skills and are comfortable with general administration tasks.
- With the ability to stay calm under pressure, you’re someone who can be relied upon to be the face of the Club.
- You’re flexible and capable of working weekends rotationally.

About Gratuities and Service Charge
- Gratuities (tips) and service charge (an additional charge added to room rates and other services at the Club that is passed directly to staff) are paid to all employees on a pro-rata basis regardless of their role.
- It is estimated that in 2024, full-time staff can expect to receive around £4,000 in addition to their annual salary.
