UCL Campus Experience and Infrastructure is responsible for managing the delivery of a Campus Experience Strategy and working with the Estates Development team.

The small, busy and dynamic fire safety team forms part of Compliance and Performance that sits within UCL Campus, Infrastructure & Operations(CI&O), implementing and delivering compliant, cost effective and pragmatic fire safety solutions to the estate.

**About the role**:
We are looking for an enthusiastic qualified fire safety professional to join the UCL fire safety team, working to enhance our capacity due to an expanding estate and workload.

The Fire Safety Officer will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of the fire safety management systems, fire risk assessments, fire safety audits and reviews. You will deliver a range of fire safety training and familiarisation to colleagues both formally and informally and will provide general support and assistance to UCL Estate’s building and maintenance projects, from feasibility to completion. You will provide specialist technical advice to inform the compilation of Personal Emergency Escape Plans (PEEP), where required, and will also identify non-compliances, taking appropriate action.

**About you**:
To excel in this role, you must have the relevant fire safety professional qualifications and/or working towards membership with Institution of Fire Engineers or similar organisation. You must be able to demonstrate leadership, the ability to persuade, negotiate and influence other areas of the business, and must have an ability to derive realistic, practical, workable and cost-effective solutions to fire safety. Experience of self-management, working effectively in a small, busy and dynamic team and excellent computer skills are essential.
