**Overview**:
A fantastic new opportunity has arisen to become a Volunteer and Peer Mentor Lead across HMP Hull and HMP Humber. The role will lead and implement a model of delivery that supports the recruitment and development of volunteers and peer mentors across the two establishments. We are hoping this role is for you.

The Volunteer and Peer Mentoring role is essential in developing a strong volunteering and mentoring offer within our prison services. Volunteers and Peer Mentors are an invaluable and integral part of our prison team, they are a vital support to staff as well as enhancing our service offer by contributing a variety of different skills, knowledge and experience to those who use our services.

You will be working in close collaboration with the management, staff and service users to identify how volunteers and mentors can support staff and enhance the service user experience, ensuring that volunteers and volunteering brings value to our service.

The post holder will recruit, train, support and place a diverse range of volunteers within HMP Hull and HMP Humber. Once placed you will be responsible for ensuring their placements promote personal growth and development. This will be achieved through the direct delivering of training and identifying learning opportunities for our volunteers.

No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key.

You will have to record information about what you do, so enjoying a bit of paperwork and attention to detail is important. But most of the time you will be enjoying working with people from all backgrounds, making a difference to their lives.
