Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of individuals with vision impairment? West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated Rehabilitation Officer for Vision Impairment to join our Adult Social Care Service, reporting to the Team Leader of the Sensory Needs Team.

In this rewarding role, you will be responsible for providing specialist support and rehabilitation services to individuals with vision impairment, enabling them to maintain their independence and enhance their quality of life. Your key duties will include:

- Conducting assessments to identify individual needs and develop personalized support plans
- Delivering practical training and advice on daily living skills, mobility, and assistive technology
- Collaborating with other professionals and external agencies to ensure holistic care and support
- Advocating for service users and promoting their inclusion within the community
- Keeping accurate records and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices

To excel in this position, you should possess the following skills and attributes:

- Qualified Rehabilitation Officer for Vision Impairment (ROVI) or commitment to undertake the 2 years training to gain the requisite ROVI qualification
- Comprehensive understanding of the impact of vision impairment on individuals and their families
- Ability to conduct thorough assessments and develop tailored support plans
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with service users and stakeholders
- Well-organized and self-motivated, capable of managing a caseload effectively
- A commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of industry developments
