A Primary Rugby League Specialist at the Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation will report directly to the Community Rugby League Manager and will have an active involvement in our Primary Rugby League Provision, delivering a number of high quality sessions each day, in schools across the Wakefield District and surrounding areas.

A Primary Rugby League Specialist will work closely with the Head of Foundation & Community Rugby League Manager to make sure all aspects of delivery are run to the highest of standards. They will also need to have a positive working relationship with the schools, head teachers, PE Leads and class teachers to grow the game of Rugby League in the Wakefield District.

**Key Responsibilities will include;**
- Enhance, develop and implement teachers and students knowledge, skills and confidence to improve provision of PE and Rugby League at a given school. All sessions delivered must be specific to a given teacher or group of students.
- Create, develop and update a detailed reporting on each school.
- Complete a termly report for each school at the end of the Autumn, Spring and Summer terms, linking in with the Education Lead.
- Implement the Rugby League curriculum in place. Outlining any feedback to the Head of Foundation & the Community Rugby League Manager.
- Build, develop and maintain relationships with current and new schools, link in regularly with PE leads and Head teachers to book in new sessions, gain feedback and improve provision.
- Support and develop all of our community clubs to ensure they are able to provide the best possible experience for all Rugby League players playing our sports at grassroots level. Create well organised, safe and inclusive environments for long lasting involvement in our sport.
- Regular communication with class teachers and PE Lead’s to ensure timetables and provision runs smoothly for the whole academic year.
- Increase children’s enjoyment, participation and skills in competitive and non-competitive Rugby League and other physical activities.
- Lead on the support to young people to further develop participation opportunities at school and grassroots level.
- Signpost participants to sustainable projects either internally or externally.
- Ensure safeguarding/child protection/vulnerable adults policies are adhered to at all times.

**Key Requirements will include;**

Essential
- A minimum of 1 year experience working in the sector (University placement can count towards the experience).
- Rugby League Level 2 Coaching Qualification
- Previous experience working in a school or educational environment.
- Experience working towards, or implementing a Curriculum.
- A full UK driving licence and own vehicle.
- A full, clean enhanced DBS Check.
- Safeguarding Qualifications.
- First Aid Qualification.

Desirable
- Mental Health qualification or experience.
- A Sport related Degree.
- PGCE or Qualified Teacher Status, or willingness to work towards in a specific timeframe.
