The Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health is committed to digital learning as a key part of its Learning and Teaching Action Plan, linked to the University’s Learning and Teaching Strategy. Central to this strategy has been the introduction of the Digital Tracker to support staff to improve the quality of teaching and student experience using digital learning approaches. The Faculty is working to ensure all departments and Schools are working at enhanced level in terms of the tracker benchmarking. Several departments within the Faculty are being restructured to form a new Medical School model. You will be expected to support departments move their digital provision into the new structure and support the development of new Medical School-wide learning technology processes and policies.

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced and skilled learning technologist with the ability to evaluate emerging technologies and turn them into solutions to enhance learning and teaching. You will be an innovator and able to work collaboratively with academic colleagues and students. You will have significant experience of learning technologies including VLEs, (preferably Blackboard), Google Apps for Education and Turnitin amongst others and will ensure that the Faculty gets the best return on its investment through the provision of advice and guidance to academic and administrative staff who use or could benefit from using learning technologies.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity to build effective working relationships and networks within the faculty, with the academic community and with the University’s other professional services, and to liaise with external stakeholders including collaborators.

This role is a maternity leave cover and is expected to run from appointment until the end of January 2024.
