Homes for Students is the leading independant provider of Student Accommodation. We’re looking for a bold and inspiring Junior Designer to join our growing team.

**Purpose of the role**:
Homes for Students is on the lookout for a Junior Designer with a flair for creativity. If you're keen to start your journey in graphic design, this might be the spot for you. What you'll be doing:

- Collaborate with our marketing team to craft designs for various student marketing campaigns, both online and offline.
- Add your creative touch to our social media visuals to ensure maximum engagement from our target Gen Z audience.
- Learn and grow with guidance from our Senior Designer, a supportive design team, and the broader marketing team.
- Ensure our designs are seamlessly integrated across our regional and property teams.

**Major Duties**:

- Support marketing campaigns and student experience activity by creating artwork, printed collateral, marketing materials and digital assets for use in online and offline channels.
- Co-ordinate and manage production and distribution of print collateral, marketing materials and digital assets.
- Liaise with external contractors, suppliers and freelance staff such as signage companies, print companies, photographers, web developers, content writers etc with regards to creation of artwork and collateral, production, scheduling and distribution.
- Assist with campaigns and competitions on social media by providing creative content to the relevant teams.
- Maintain collateral and materials within brand guidelines across each of our brands, and encourage and support the wider business in the same.
- Keep up to date with current trends in the student accommodation market and relevant competitors and suggest upgrades and enhancements accordingly.
- Work to tight deadlines with accuracy.
- Comply with Health and Safety working practice in accordance with the company’s policy.
- To be flexible and work effectively with other colleagues.
- Some national travel may be required infrequently to attend meetings etc.

In order for Homes for Students to work effectively, you may be required to assist with other areas of work and therefore, you should be prepared to undertake other duties appropriate to the post, as delegated by your line manager.

**Skills**:

- Must have very strong design skills with a keen eye for detail and a creative flair.
- Must have very strong written English skills.
- Proven track record within design and creative.
- Ability to design effectively and efficiently and for purpose.
- Intermediate to advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and to tight deadlines.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to deal effectively with people at all levels.

- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimum guidance; confidence in taking the initiative

**Essential**:

- A comprehensive graphic design portfolio of original work, preferably online (although PDF submissions are acceptable)
- Good understanding of social media marketing assets
- Understanding of web marketing technology

**Desirable**
- At least one year’s experience in a design role.
- Experience of marketing and design within the student sector.
- Adobe Suite literate with specific confidence in Illustrator and InDesign.
- Canva knowledge for delivering presentation work and asset management.
- Experience in project/campaign planning.
- Experience of national campaign delivery and analysis.
- Experience of consulting with customers and agencies.

In order for Homes for Students to work effectively, you may be required to assist with other areas of work and therefore, you should be prepared to undertake other duties appropriate to the post, as delegated by your line manager. Homes for Students operates over 39,000+ beds across the UK and Ireland therefore some travelling may be required with the role.
