**About the Team**

This is a unique opportunity for a carers worker to be part of a Mental Health Specialist Carers service, integrated within multi-disciplinary mental health teams across the North and South of Warwickshire. The successful applicant will be employed by Warwickshire County Council but work closely with colleagues within the Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust (CWPT) Mental Health Services under a successful section 75 agreement. This allows for the meaningful integration of the social care agenda within the local Mental Health Trust and prioritises a holistic person-centred approach to meeting the needs and outcomes of carers.

The population of South Warwickshire is over 250,000 and includes the historic market towns of Warwick and Kenilworth, the regency splendour of Royal Leamington Spa, Shakespeare’s birthplace Stratford-upon-Avon as well as hundreds of acres of beautiful Warwickshire countryside.

**About the Role**

You will play a crucial and valued role in the Mental Health Specialist Carers Service. Carers accessing the service will be caring for those with diagnoses of a range of mental disorders including schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, dementia, OCD and personality disorder. The aim of the service is to offer timely and effective carers assessments, support plans and reviews designed to maximise carer potential to achieve their identified outcomes in a strengths-based way; enabling them to continue in their caring role whilst promoting their full inclusion in the community.

You will play a role in contributing to social care Peer Group Discussions and be embedded into mental health team MDT’s to provide specialist carer knowledge and promotion of the Mental Health Specialist Carers Service.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, a head for complexity, and a desire to improve the outcomes and wellbeing of carers.

**Key Requirements**
- To be successful in this role you will understand the challenges and barriers that informal carers face.
- The role will require driving and for the successful applicant to work across the county of Warwickshire.
- You will have a broad understanding of local service provision to meet eligible unmet carer needs.
- This role serves as an ideal opportunity to further develop specialist mental health skills and awareness.
- You will need strong analytical and communication skills and be able to work on your own initiative as well as collaboratively with colleagues.
- You can manage under pressure when supporting carers who may have complex needs and social circumstances and maintain a professional stance-seeking support from your mental health and social care colleagues and team managers.
- Professional social work supervision and line management supervision is provided.
- We will consider less experienced carers workers who are enthusiastic to develop and train further to enhance their knowledge and expertise of working within an adult mental health setting.
