Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation is recruiting 1 WTE UKSPF Vocational Specialist. You will be required to proactively engage with and manage a caseload of people who have experienced mental health problems who are economically inactive and living in the borough of Walsall. You will have advanced interpersonal skills and will be able to communicate at all levels to engage with the hardest to engage target groups. You will network with a range of partners across the Black Country to ensure vocational opportunities are maximised for our client group.

**Detailed job description and main responsibilities**

We are looking to recruit a Vocational Specialist to deliver on our Bridge service which covers the whole of the Black Country.

You will be required to proactively engage with and manage a caseload of people who have experienced mental health problems who are unemployed, economically inactive or at risk of redundancy. You will have advanced interpersonal skills and will be able to converse at all levels.

You will be working in the multi-disciplinary team with service users with multiple complex needs identifying and supporting them to overcome barriers so that they are able to move into employment and sustain this or other recovery and social inclusion goals, in conjunction with key stakeholders. This would include educational, voluntary work and pre-vocational training opportunities, and support for employers on reasonable adjustments and retention of employees where necessary.

**Person Specification**

**Essential criteria**
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Experience of working with and supporting people who have mental health problems or other unemployed disadvantaged groups
- Experience of opening up vocational opportunities including access to education and training
- Knowledge/Experience of partnership working to increase individuals recovery

**Desirable criteria**
- L4 IAG
- Knowledge of the barriers faced by individuals who may be socially excluded and furthest from the labour market.
- Familiar with support organisations in the Walsall borough

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 18 months

**Salary**: £28,407.00-£34,581.00 per year

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Flexitime
- Monday to Friday

**Experience**:

- working with people with mental health problems: 1 year (required)
- working with unemployed or disadvantaged: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Level 4 IAG (desirable but NOT essential) (preferred)
- experience supporting people with mental health problems (required)
- Familiar with support organisations in the Walsall borough (preferred)
- related degree level or equivalent (preferred)
- knowledge of individuals excluded from the labour market (preferred)

Work authorisation:

- United Kingdom (required)

Willingness to travel:

- 25% (preferred)
