Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin’s attractions and brands on a global scale, we are looking for a **Financial Assistant - R2R Cash Accounting** to join our **Corporate Finance** team. This role will be based at our Finance Hub, Basingstoke office.

Reporting into the Team Lead Cash Accounting - Global Record to Report, the Financial Assistant - R2R Cash Accounting is primarily responsible for the timely & accurate processing of the financial control, accounting and reporting activities in accordance with company policy, performance and quality standards;
The successful applicant will be working across all departments and key stakeholders to support the financial reporting process.

- Foster strong relationships with internal and external business stakeholders.
- Uphold and enforce financial controls and systems.
- Ensure timely completion of tasks in accordance with accounting policies.
- Take charge of balance sheet accounts and collaborate with Finance hub managers for thorough reviews.

***Main Responsibilities...**
- Collaborate with key business partners to prepare accurate weekly and monthly journals.
- Ensure timely and precise month-end reporting across international legal entities following the Finance hub timetable.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations to support reviews with Finance hub managers and business partners.
- Process cash accounting activities for international legal entities while maintaining financial controls aligned with group policies.
- Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports in line with the centralized reporting strategy.
- Monitor and resolve queries related to outstanding banking items.
- Coordinate with internal and external audit teams.
- Develop and uphold standard operating procedures.

**Skills, Experience & Qualifications...**
- Degree or 2+ years of experience in a finance role.
- Proficient in bank reconciliation.
- Familiarity with the month-end close process.
- Strong analytical skills and proactive problem-solving approach.
- Experience in process improvements and standardising finance processes.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key business stakeholders.
- Proactive individual accustomed to working in a flexible and changing environment.
- Intermediate level of Excel proficiency is essential.

- Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate month-end close activities across multiple functions.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a proactive mindset to gather the necessary supporting evidence.
- Collaborative coordination with divisional finance organizations to promptly identify and resolve any issues that arise.

- Ensure full compliance of policies and procedures set forth within the MERLIN ENTERTAINMENTS GROUP Health, Safety & Security Policy;
- Understand risk assessments within own workplace and ensure reporting of any new risks to appropriate line manager;
- In compliance of safe working procedures in place for work activities within one’s job role;
- In cases of incidents or accidents ensure appropriate reporting is done in a timely and accurate manner.
