**Rate: £10 - £15 per hour (dependent on experience)**
**Location: Shirley**
**Hours: Part time 21.5 hours a week
- Flexibly worked over 3-5 days per week**
**The Company**
We are an independent accountancy practice in the Shirley/ Solihull area. We pride ourselves on the strength of our client relationships which has enabled us to continue to grow over the last 3 years in a challenging market. We offer our clients bespoke accounts,bookkeeping and payroll services tailored to the clients’ requirements.
**The role**
We are looking for a payroll and accounts professional to join our accounts team, to work along side the director to ensure all the client’s needs are met. Initially the role is primarily office based with hybrid home working following a probationary period.Occasional client visits may be required.
**Accounts/ Bookkeeping tasks**
- Sales/purchase ledger maintenance
- Bank reconciliations
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Trial balance preparation
- Credit control
- VAT returns
**Payroll Administration**
- Collation of monthly payroll data within required timeframes and authorisation guidelines
- Data entry and system maintenance
- Completion of monthly reporting and ad-hoc management reporting requirements
- Dealing with queries from managers and employees
- Supporting statutory leave requirements
- Supporting tax year end processes
- Keeping up to date with payroll legislation
- Involvement in auto-enrolment processes
**Personal profile**
Ideally, you will be someone with previous payroll administration experience within a multi-site organisation. You will have strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work within strict timeframes. It is important that you areanalytically minded with strong attention to detail. Must be competent in Microsoft Office, particularly in using excel spreadsheets. Adhering to Confidentiality and GDPR compliance
Must be highly personable, able to communicate with our diverse client base. Able to organise/prioritise workload effectively to ensure deadlines are met. Must have adequate prior experience working in a payroll/ bookkeeping department either in practiceor in industry within a company’s accounts team. Other requirements include:
- Ideally be AAT (or comparable professional qualification) qualified.
- Experience with a range of accounting and payroll software (E.g. SAGE, Xero, QuickBooks, Moneysoft etc.)
- Competent with full Microsoft suite (Word, excel, Outlook etc.)
