This position is open to both experienced accounts assistants with experience of working in a legal environment and also to school leavers looking to establish themselves in their first role. Key Responsibilities

As a member of the team responsibilities will include:

- Supporting in ensuring that accounting operations are compliant with the Solicitors Regulation Authority accounting rules
- Processing daily transactions relating to the management/issue of cheques, both incoming and outgoing
- Responding to queries raised by Departments regarding the receipt or issue of cheques, payments or postings to the client ledgers
- Administration of posting from daily downloads in respect of items for both Client and Office accounts eg Bank Statements, Land Registry.
- Administration of the Lloydslink system relating to payments made by clients using debit or credit cards
- Processing of staff expense claims
- Day to day management of the Petty Cash
- Dealing with incoming and outgoing departmental post
- Scanning, preparing and photocopying documents
- Support with banking activities
- Support in the reconciliation of accounts/ledgers
- Any other accounting activities to support the Banking, Client and Office Ledgers that are within the skill set of the incumbent
- Cover for colleagues within the Team
- Answering and directing incoming calls across both offices

**We are looking for someone with**:

- Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial
- Enjoy a high level of interaction with clients and staff, displaying a welcoming and professional approach at all times whilst maintaining confidentiality
- Good financial/numerical awareness
- Excellent time management skills demonstrating the ability to organise and manage changing priorities on an ongoing basis
- Ability to demonstrate a courteous, helpful and service-orientated manner both in person and on the phone
- Ability to work conscientiously, autonomously and within a team with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and strong interpersonal skills
- Efficiency, reliability and flexibility
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with a wide range of people
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Proven IT skills, including Outlook and Excel; financial packages would be an advantage
- Studying for an appropriate professional qualification would be an advantage
