Role Description: The role of the Accounts Payable Clerk is to provide administrative support to the finance team, ensuring the accurate processing of supplier invoices to meet the company s financial obligations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with multiple currencies, including dollars, euros, and pounds. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities:
- Capturing all supplier invoices into Sage, matching against POs.
- Performing reconciliations of Sage against supplier statements.
- Reviewing open POs and Aged Payables for outstanding supplier invoices.
- Allocating payments from the bank accounts to supplier accounts on Sage.
- Managing the AP inbox and answering phone calls as required.
- Escalating disputes on supplier invoices and applying credit notes against disputed invoices.
- Maintaining supplier records on Sage.
- Completing ONS surveys and other external reports.
- Alerting the Finance Manager to requests from suppliers for Direct Debit payments.
Experience We Are Seeking:
- Previous experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk.
- Experience working with multiple currencies, including dollars, euros, and pounds.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and work independently.
- Strong communication skills, enabling effective liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
- Professional and polite demeanor, able to handle conflict and pressure.
- Proficiency in using databases, Excel (intermediate), Word, and Sage accounts.
- Self-motivated, able to multi-task and identify areas for improvement.
- Positive attitude towards acquiring new skills and knowledge.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in a high-performing finance team.
- Experience using Sage 50, Navision, Excel, and Word.
- AAT Qualification.
