**Role: Lead Developer (PHP)**

**Salary: £70,000-£80,000**

**Location: Sheffield**

**Our clients Technology Department is responsible for the development and support of a website, property advertising platform and Salesforce CRM. They are looking for a Lead Developer to lead the development of their website and property advertisingplatform, reporting into the Director of Technology. You will have line management responsibility for our team of 4 developers and our Senior UX Designer and be responsible for growing the team.**

You will be responsible for the delivery of technology solutions which enable us to achieve our goal to be the number one place for all things student accommodation. You’ll be a creative force, working with experts across the business to develop our productproposition and deliver a first-class user experience. Their core technology is PHP / Laravel, so experience in this environment is required. Ideally, you will also have experience in cloud hosting and DevOps.

You will also be responsible for our system architecture and ensuring our infrastructure is fit for purpose as we continue to grow.

As part of the Management Team you will bring a wealth of experience to support the delivery of the wider business strategy and our continued growth.

**Key responsibilities**
- You will be a key leader within the business, responsible for the successful development of our website and property advertising platform
- You will own the end to end delivery of changes, ensuring business needs are understood clearly, solutions are delivered in a timely manner with a high level of a quality.
- You will develop insights from research and data to understand how customers interact with the platform and develop creative ideas to increase interaction and ultimately, generate business results
- You will ensure our systems are fit for purpose, reliable and scalable. Taking ownership for the maintenance of our infrastructure and ensuring our system architecture is designed to scale
- You’ll review our hosting setup and manage a programme of work to migrate to a cloud hosting solution such as AWS if a need is identified
- You will collaborate with the other departments to deliver against business objectives cohesively
- You’ll lead, develop and coach your team to support their progression within the business and be responsible for recruitment of additional team members

**Skills and experience**
- You have 5+ years’ experience of development from a PHP background
- You have 1+ years’ experience managing a team
- You have some experience of system architecture design, hosting and devops
- You are creative and passionate about innovation
- You are proficient in project methodologies and can set up efficient and collaborative ways of working for your team
- You are a great communicator and can effectively translate ideas and solutions for non-technical team members
- You have experience developing technology based on data to drive results
- You are a collaborator who is comfortable working with a wider team to develop technology solutions
- You are a problem solver who is proficient in defining solutions and delivering results
- Experience of the property or utilities industry is beneficial but not essential. Full training will be given.
