**SHEQ Site Assurance Auditor - Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality Site Assurance Auditor - West Scotland**

Novo Technologies has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Health, Safety & Environmental Site assurance auditor to be part of a team delivering a fibre to the home telecommunications network within the West Coast of Scotland.

This work involves installation and excavations in the public highways, footways, and private land. Installation of fibre optic cables in new and existing highways, duct work, fibre optic cable installation in public and private buildings and street cabinet installations.

The site assurance auditor will be part of our compliance team and provide focus in all areas of our project assurance auditing processes, ensuring we achieve regulatory, legislation and customer compliance service level, KPI and legal requirements.

You will be responsible for preparing and carryout out site audits, carrying out incident and accident investigations, Safety behavioural coaching, ensuing compliance with CDM principal contractor duties and promoting the company’s positive attitude towards health safety wellbeing and environmental culture, coordinating and supporting the business in fulfilling its Construction design management regulatory and other statutory duties.

You will be headquartered within our main office in Scotland however you will be expected to dedicate the majority of your time within the field auditing street works construction sites.

Audit check lists and schedule of works are made available electronically to you. Following your audits, you will prepare reports on levels of compliance and raise corrective actions as required.

You may be required to participate in the recommendation of changes in policies, procedures and working practices, help monitor the review and revision of policies & procedures to ensure continued compliance with all legal and other relevant requirements in conjunction with members of operational support teams.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Carry out new starter site inductions
- Undertake weekly Health Safety Environmental site assurance audits of no less than 50% of the deployed Gangs.
- Monitor and ensure that the compliance audit programme is completed to plan; that the findings of audits are documented; and those non-conformances/actions are assigned to relevant managers and staff.
- Read, understand and comply with client technical standards and Guidance documents.
- Monitor and ensure the timely completion of non-conformances/actions arising from compliance audits reporting progress to the Compliance manager.
- Provide advice to the Directors to enable them to set appropriate performance objectives and improvements.
- Report on the levels of performance to enable Directors to review the effectiveness of current arrangements.
- Advise Site managers on measures to ensure the effective operation of the Health, Safety Environment Management Systems and the promotion of a Safety culture.
- Give advice and guidance, to any person who may require it, to promote the understanding and operation of Health & Safety best practice.
- To assist in any regulatory, external or internal audit as required.
- Report any initiatives that they consider could lead to improvement.
- Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health.
- Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
- Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
- Coordinate with internal safety resources or external safety consultants to ensure project site inspections and audits are scheduled, completed and any actions including site coaching is implemented.
- Review and sometimes draft Risk Method statements - construction phase plans and ensure compliance to our health and safety management plan.
- Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations.
- Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated and recommended improvements implemented.

**The Person**
- Working within the telecommunications and or utility sectors
- in particular activities involving working at height, street works and civils.
- NEBOSH Higher certification
- Technical Member (Tech IOSH)
- Quality auditor 9001 2015 or similar
- NEBOSH Environmental - Desirable
- NRSWA- Supervisor
- Relevant industry experience or relevant sector Engineering knowledge (Ducting, Fibre and Civils)
- Full Driving License
- Confidential in all matters
- Professional approach, coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
- Strong IT skills
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Ability to work in, and adapt to a rapidly changing enviro
