It’s a hugely exciting time to join AECOM’s external communications team as we continue to deliver PR programmes across a range of sectors, from major urban transport projects and energy decarbonisation schemes to new digital approaches that help our clients achieve better outcomes.

We’re looking for a **Press Officer **to join our external communications team, responsible for delivering AECOM’s media relations strategy across Europe and India. The post holder will be responsible for supporting our growing team of digital innovators, creating compelling content for media stakeholders and audiences about our work in AI, data analytics and other emerging technologies.

**Key responsibilities will include**:
**Stakeholder collaboration**: Working as part of the Europe and India marketing and communications team, supporting several business lines and working closely with our region-wide digital team to support their growth ambitions.

**Content creation**: Drafting and distributing press releases and opinion pieces and creating engaging social media content.

**PR campaigns**: Devising and delivering proactive media campaigns.

**Media engagement**: Responding to media enquiries and developing relationships with key journalists to ensure AECOM’s perspective is sought actively by media contacts.

**Reporting and measurement**:Producing weekly coverage reports and quarterly media impact reports for key internal stakeholders.

**Processes**:Managing key external communications team processes, including the editorial calendar and engagement tracker.

**Qualifications** Qualifications**:
We are looking for someone with a proven track record in media relations or journalism. You must have proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritise a variety of projects and tasks, have excellent communication skills and attention to detail and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

**Writing skills**:Excellent writing skills and the journalistic ability to source stories from the business.

**Communication skills**:Ability to engage with different stakeholders and provide communications advice to internal teams, including senior leaders.

**Media engagement skills**:Ability to foster good relationships with press contacts.

**Creative skills**:Ability to provide fresh communications thinking.

**Copywriting skills**:Ability to write engaging copy for different platforms, including social media, media statements, press releases and opinion pieces.

Educated to degree level in Communications or Journalism.

**Preferred Qualifications**

A proven track record of media relations work across complex issues in either a digital company or a large-scale business environment.
