As a Medical Writer, you will be responsible for writing copy for a wide variety of audiences and purposes across different therapy areas, under the supervision of the senior editorial team. You will also be involved in researching information and staying abreast of the literature in research areas, alongside proof-checking and editing other writers’ work. We offer a network of support for on-the-job training and progression, from a ‘buddy system’ to guide you through your first few months to supportive team structures and ongoing objective setting and appraisal from your line manager.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Writing and editing**
- Produce high quality medical writing
- Develop briefing and reviewing skills
- Develop appropriate manner in which to feedback to Associate Medical Writers and peers
- Ensure the accuracy of all information, data and referencing for the projects you produce
- Address internal and external comments on your work intelligently and question any that are inappropriate, inaccurate or unclear

**Scientific content and expertise**
- Develop comprehensive understanding of new therapeutic areas
- Become familiar with client products, therapy areas, portfolio, and clinical and commercial strategy
- Develop understanding of industry codes of practice/legislation

**Internal relationships**
- Work with other members of the writing team, as well as independently, to ensure that departmental objectives are met
- Plan your workload and participate in team resourcing meetings

**Client service and external relationships**
- Work collaboratively with account team members to ensure that all account objectives are met
- Start to build relationships with clients and/or external experts
- Attend meetings in the UK or elsewhere, providing on-site support as required

**Business development**
- Identify opportunities to maximise existing client accounts
- Assist with the development of proposals and pitches

**Financial**
- Develop understanding of projects scoping, budgeting and reconciliation
- Notify the Client Services team and Technical Lead of any changes to specification for ongoing projects at the earliest opportunity
- Adhere to time and budget guidelines given by the project's Technical Lead, keeping them updated with any alterations from the schedule

**Company policies and requirements**
- Maintain regular working hours and behave in a professional manner at all times
- Complete all expense claims in a timely manner and provide receipts to support expenditure
- Look after all company equipment entrusted to you and report any loss or damage immediately
- Attend all staff and team meetings, as requested
- Complete all timesheets, trackers and resourcing planners as requested
- Use house style in all external communications
- Carry out any other duties as requested by members of the account team or Havas management
