Responsible to: Head of Housing (South)

Job Purpose:
To be a part of our friendly, proactive housing team, providing tailored support to people who have endured homelessness and now reside in our supported accommodation projects. By building trusting relationships, you will work in a psychologically informed way to help residents to overcome trauma, build resilience, work towards their goals and aspirations and develop the skills needed for sustainable independent living.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

- Respond to general enquiries about the housing project and assist in managing referrals
- Assess the suitability of applicants through PNC check and ‘getting to know you’ meetings
- Support with the induction process, ensuring residents feel welcome and understand their rights and responsibilities within the service
- Hold regular support meetings with residents to review aspirations, help set goals and monitor progress in the Personal Development Plan (PDP)
- Work in a trauma informed way, providing on-going practical and emotional support, guidance and signposting to help residents manage their wellbeing and sustain their accommodation
- Implement and monitor Safety Plans & risk assessments, revising & recording where appropriate
- Refer to internal Mental Wellbeing Coach and Skills Coaches as appropriate to meet the residents' individual needs and deliver the best outcomes for them
- In conjunction with the Housing Officer, manage the rental income of your caseload
- Ensure that the voices of the residents are consistently sought to enable them to shape service delivery
- Operate within the rent arrears and voids policy and procedures to contribute towards the overall targets for the organisation
- Be part of an out of hours’ service on a rota basis with the team to support the accommodation and/ or residents

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

- Communicate effectively with external professionals working with the resident, attending meetings where necessary
- Use InForm software management system to accurately record resident information, updating as appropriate
- Be flexible to the changing needs of the organisation and it's service users
- Abide by the organisations staff working policies and procedures
- Promote the aims, purposes, mission and services delivered by the organisation
- In addition to the duties set out in this job description, the post holder may at times be required to undertake additional or other duties to meet the needs of the organisation
