About the job

The Head of Trading Quant is responsible for our mathematical, pricing and modelling

expertise across all sports, reporting into the Director of Trading. This role will take end
- to-end ownership of existing and future modelling capabilities at Metric, ensure the

optimisation of our production models and, working alongside the Heads of Trading,

Strategy & Analytics, analyse betting patterns from Metric tenants to pinpoint areas for

improvement within the entire Trading function.

**Responsibilities**:
Take ownership of existing models, documenting existing code and rebuilding where

necessary to support our future development plans such as enhanced in-event

combinability;
Lead our project to develop in-event combinability across key sports for our tenants,

including soccer, American football, basketball, etc.;
Overall responsibility for model performance, working collaboratively with the entire

Trading function towards quantitative KPIs;
Work with our 3rd party suppliers to maximise the benefit of the data they send us,

ensuring the data is clean for the Analytics team to work with and developing quantitative

metrics with which to measure supplier performance in key deliverables;
Identify, document and fix operational and technical deficiencies, suggesting and

Contribute to the ongoing development and testing of new products and systems;
Build out a dedicated team of quantitative analysts, providing monthly performance

reviews with direct reports, instilling a healthy culture of constructive feedback cycles.

Desired knowledge, skills and experience:
Must already have the right to work in the UK;
Strong working knowledge of C#, MySQL and Golang;
Confident in data modelling, with any previous experience of sports modelling a

significant advantage;
Proven line management skills, particularly for remote/hybrid working, to develop a

growing team in a meritocratic culture that prioritises honesty and transparency;
Sports betting knowledge is obviously highly desirable, but not essential;
Capable of translating complex technical issues to deliver updates for other areas of the

business;
Problem solver who can pinpoint issues quickly, as well as anticipating problems before

they occur;
Comfortable delivering formal presentations to all levels of the business.
