Overview:
Warringtonfire has an exciting opportunity for a
** Product Assessor** to join our growing Technical team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Plan Reaction To Fire test programmes in liaison with clients and the relevant testing department
- Review Reaction To Fire test reports, audit and sampling reports, non-conformances, contract reviews etc., for technical compliance in line with the relevant scheme requirements (i.e. construction, marine or third party schemes)
- To provide sound technical advice and to prepare technical documentation
- Respond to and resolve technical and certification enquiries
- Continuously develop knowledge in National, European and International Standards and Specifications relating to fire safety, and in specialist product areas
- Prepare technical evaluations and make technical judgments
- Project manage technical files and prepare Certificates of Conformity
- Autonomy for own work schedule, prioritise activity to meet customer or business deadlines.
- Assisting in the development of the department - positively contribute ideas for new initiatives, etc
- Maintain professional work standards
- Work with manager, colleagues and team to increase knowledge of role and standards and the service provided by all; put effort into improving technical and decision-making skills for self and the team
- Lead and contribute to the development of standards, and to represent the company, as appropriate, on nominated standards, sector group and trade association committees and on other public platforms where required
- Provide support for Accreditation Body audits, as required

Skills / Qualifications:

- Educated to BSc level standard or equivalent, ideally with a science or engineering degree or relevant industry experience
- Experience of fire testing of construction or marine products would be advantageous, but not essential
- Exposure within any fire industry, construction materials, materials science, product certification, fire-related product development or a similar construction or maritime industry would be advantageous
- Keen interest in all aspects of fire safety
- Practical laboratory experience would be advantageous, but not essential
- Methodical and highly organised: capable of meeting deadlines, seeing problems through and overcoming obstacles
- Able to prioritise and reach decisions quickly and effectively
- Able to make informed decisions and confidence to stand by / justify these decisions
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Excellent numeracy skills and strong attention to detail
- Presentation skills
