This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified cardiac physiologist, with a specialised interest in Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) wishing to start their career in a renowned tertiary centre. This is a CRM training position, and you will be expected to work towards your BHRS devices qualification. Internal and national training will be provided to help you towards this achievement.

We are a large Cardiology department, with 4 catheter suites, highly successful implantable devices and Electrophysiology services - with a specialism in VT ablation.

As a department we are keen to grow and improve, we have recently introduced 2 new Physiologist led services with others to come. We are dedicated to training and development of our staff, including attendance at national conferences.

At University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire we provide both emergency and routine cardiac investigations.

As a band 5 cardiac physiologist you will be expected to work rotationally through Invasive and Non Invasive areas. This includes work within our busy cardiac catheter suite - routinely performing Primary PCI, PCI, Angiography, TAVI, Electrophysiology and a whole range of pacing techniques.

You would be expected to support the day to day running of cardiac investigations and help with the training of students and cardiographers where appropriate

1. To work as a registered practitioner across the range of procedures performed in the Department of Cardiac Investigations
2. To undertake the training required to provide specialist expertise throughout the department. To report shortfalls and delays in the service to the appropriate Senior Chief CP, or Service Manager, to minimise patient delays.
3. To ensure that all procedures and data produced are to the required standard and are documented in accordance with Department Operational Procedures/national guidelines.
4. To ensure diagnostic tests are performed in accordance with protocols and data and diagnostic reports containing a range of complex facts and measurements are accurate and produced in a timely manner
5. To achieve competency in the documentation of patient data for all investigations undertaken within the department, ensuring that the data is accurate and processed in a timely manner, and produced in the appropriate report format.
6. To ensure highest levels of concentration and accuracy to complete tasks. To have complex hand /eye coordination and dexterity in the timely and accurate use of diagnostic machinery, equipment and consumables.
7. To be able to work in occasionally unpleasant and stressful working conditions as well as the ability to perform occasional moderate physical effort for short period during the shift including the movement of patients and heavy diagnostic equipment.
8. To assist with the complex analysis and interpretation of data on either a daily or prolonged basis. Provide diagnostic reports and to be responsible for accurate data entry and storage of data within established departmental policies and codes of practice.
9. To ensure information given to patients about test procedures is communicated in a manner that ensures patients dignity is maintained, that the patient understands the procedure and that the patient is supported and reassured whilst attending for their procedure. Also that the patient leaves with an understanding of how they will receive test results. This will include adults, children and at times those with physical and /or learning disabilities.
