Working as part of the clinical team, the Retrieval and Transfer Practitioner (RTP) will provide support, care and necessary clinical interventions to patients in both the hospital and transfer environment, using appropriate skills and equipment safely and within appropriate level of training, competency and scope of practice.

The RTP has extensive experience of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individualised person-centred care for adult patients in the critical care unit setting.
Following a period of pre-operational induction training and supernumary shifts, participate in timely response to transfer requests from the critical care network made via the EMRTS Critical Care Hub (ECCH).
Practitioners will also be required to participate in the Duty Transfer Co-Ordinator Rota: acting as first point of contact for referring units to discuss cases and place transfer requests.. You will also participate in multidisciplinary handover in the referring unit, taking responsibility for the patients ongoing nursing care needs throughout the transfer
Practitioners will have the opportunity to Participate in the training of fellow operational team members, newly recruited operational team members and any trainee who undertakes shifts in a training role.
