We’re looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Foodbank Coordinator to ensure the smooth running of Lyme Regis & Charmouth Foodbank, enabling the provision of emergency food and other additional services for local people in crisis.

This is an exciting job opportunity to manage and lead a committed group of local volunteers as we seek to alleviate hunger, restore dignity, and offer hope to local people in food poverty.

**What you will do**:
To meet the growing needs of the foodbank, this role will:
Coordinate and lead our existing volunteers, ensuring they feel supported and equipped to deliver the foodbank sessions.

Be the point of contact for people looking for support with food insecurity and emergency access to food provision.

Endeavour to recruit new volunteers, increase our food donations, work with our referral partners and liaise with schools and other appropriate organisations.

Seek to build new relationships and partnerships by engaging with the local community about our essential work.

Be proactive in using local events and media as appropriate to promote awareness of the foodbank in a positive way.

**Hours**

We're looking for someone who can work approximately 10-12 hours a week to include Tuesday and Wednesday with flexibility across other weekdays. More hours may be required at certain times of the year to deliver specific projects.

**Requirements**:

- Full driving licence and own transport essential
- Flexibility with hours is desirable

- Empathy and an ability to work with a diverse range of people in an inclusive and proactive way
- Ability to lead, motivate, train and support volunteers
- Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks
- Good oral, telephone and written communication skills
- Honesty, discretion and integrity

**Deadline / Start date**

We are looking to recruit for this role asap, ideally with someone in place by mid-December or at the latest, a start date of January 3rd 2023.
