**Position**: Responsible Individual / Operations Manager

**Location**: Derby

**Reports**To: Willow Care Group Director/s

**Salary**:£60,000 to £70,000 **(depending upon experience and qualifications)

**Job Summary**:
As the Responsible Individual and Operations Manager, you will hold a dual role encompassing leadership in regulatory compliance and operational management. You will be responsible for ensuring the well-being, safety, and development of children and young people residing in our residential care setting, while also managing the efficient operations of our services.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Residential Care and Operations Oversight**:

- Ensure that the residential facility provides a safe, supportive, and caring environment for children and young people.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the residential home, including staffing, scheduling, resource allocation, and facility management.

**Quality Assurance**:

- Develop and implement quality assurance processes and systems to assess and enhance the quality of care and services provided.
- Regularly review and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans, policies, and procedures to ensure they align with best practices and regulatory requirements.

**Registered Manager Support**:

- Provide guidance and support to registered managers within the service.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of the performance of registered managers, ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards.

**Training and Development**:

- Identify training needs of registered managers and other staff within the service.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of registered managers and staff members.
- Monitor and assess the personal and professional development of registered managers, providing constructive feedback and support.

**Regulatory Compliance**:

- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989, the Care Standards Act 2000, and associated regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current UK regulations and best practices in residential childcare.

**Child Safeguarding**:

- Implement and monitor safeguarding policies and procedures to protect children and young people from harm.
- Respond appropriately to any safeguarding concerns or incidents, reporting them to the appropriate authorities.

**Operational Management**:

- Streamline operational processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery.
- Optimize resource allocation and cost-effective measures to ensure smooth operations.

**Record Keeping and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate and confidential records of each child's progress, behavior, and any significant incidents.
- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory bodies and stakeholders.

**Emergency Response**:

- Be available on-call to respond to emergencies or crises within the residential facility.
- Ensure that staff are trained in emergency procedures and that they are prepared to handle crisis situations effectively.

**Family and Stakeholder Communication**:

- Maintain open and regular communication with the families or guardians of children in care, keeping them informed of their child's progress and any significant developments.
- Collaborate with external agencies, including local authorities, to coordinate support services for residents.
- Conduct referral reviews to ensure that we are providing the best possible care to our residents.

**Continuous Improvement**:

- Identify areas for improvement in the residential care settings and operational procedures, implementing necessary changes to enhance the quality of care and operational efficiency.
