To provide specialist advice and direction to The MH Clinical and the development of peer support
- To hold responsibility for education and training within the MH Clinical Board and the Recovery College and to coordinate provision by multidisciplinary staff, service users, carers and multiagency providers.

With support from the Mental Health Clinical Board develop the policies and procedures to enable the safe running of Peer Support across a range of venues.
- To provide leadership across the Peer Support Team including responsibility for appraisal, supervision, induction, training and education
- To work closely with the Service lead for recovery, clinical leads for occupational therapy and the Peer Lead to promote, develop and embed the principles of recovery orientated practice across the MHCB
- To work in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, voluntary organisations, local authority and other appropriate health and social care sectors to negotiate Peer provision across all levels of mental health provision.
- To maintain appropriate records in accordance with UHB requirements

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.CLINICAL
- As an autonomous practitioner, will demonstrate self-management skills and independence in thought and action and take personal responsibility for professional performance e.g. regular lone working and with service-users / students in the community.
- Identifies and assesses individual learning needs/problems and formulates specific management plans for meeting complex learning needs.
- Monitors and evaluates the ongoing effectiveness of the Recovery College course plan.
- Accepts the standards of others without prejudice and regardless of race, religion, politics, socio-economic background and lifestyle.
- Demonstrates attitudes that ensure the expressed needs and choices of students and carers become the focus of the educational plan.
- Within an identified area, assumes professional responsibility and accountability to implement peer support across MHCB and demonstrate the unique recovery journey of service-users and the recovery skills of carers and staff.
- Monitors and evaluates the ongoing effectiveness of the peer support plan through a reflective model demonstrating: - o knowledge to measure and reflect critically on practice o skills in relation to analysis of outcomes.
- With support from Strategic Lead will develop supervision framework for peer support workforce across MHCB.
- Delivery of peer support training
- Education of MHCB staff/teams in relation to embedding peer support workforce
- To work collaboratively with Co-production Consultant, Recovery College Peer Lead, Recovery College Operational Lead and Head of Lived Experience Workforce to monitor and prioritise requests for Lived Experience input from Mental Health services across Cardiff and Vale.

2.COMMUNICATION
- Demonstrates effective communication skills when imparting complex information to service users and carers, families, health care professionals and other agencies, e.g. the promotion of health and well-being.
- Is proactive and contributes to the debate of professional and educational issues.
- Identifies and minimises interpersonal conflict.
- Demonstrates IT skills in order to produce reports and set up appropriate spreadsheets and databases.
- To ensure that any concerns regarding a Service users mental and physical wellbeing is shared with the team in order
