Belfast, United Kingdom Friends of the Cancer Centre Full time

Job description

Friends of the Cancer Centre has been dedicated to making a real and meaningful difference to cancer patients and their families across Northern Ireland for over 36 years. The charity is here to enhance the quality of patient care and support through our life-changing and life-saving work. We do this by funding additional nurses, supporting local research and providing practical support, such as our financial grants, which help families through a difficult time.

As Friends of the Cancer Centre relies entirely on the generosity of the local community to continue our vital work, the Community Fundraising Officer is a key member of the charity’s fundraising team. As well as working alongside our community supporters to generate income that will contribute to the annual fundraising target, you will let people across Northern Ireland know of the charity’s work and how we can support their families.

This will require you to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, building relationships and offering fundraising support. You will work alongside families, local community groups, schools, individuals and organisations, as well as the charity’s fundraising group members and volunteers, acting as their ‘go-to’ person within Friends of the Cancer Centre.

You will need to be an excellent communicator, able to inspire and motivate the general public, ensuring Friends of the Cancer Centre is their charity of choice. In order to achieve this, you will also need to provide excellent donor care to supporters for all fundraising activities, ensuring long lasting relationships.

Full details of the Community Fundraising Officer role, including the job description, main duties and responsibilities, and person specification, are included in the Information Pack.
