We are recruiting an Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a 3-6 month assignment with a c£50m revenue, PE backed consumer goods / manufacturing business based in Suffolk / Cambridgeshire.

Reporting to the CEO you will be responsible for adding an extra layer of expertise to help drive the professionalisation of the business as they scale and transition into full PE ownership. As such you must be available at short notice, able to commit toat least 3 days per week in the office and come with a range of financial leadership / CFO experience from a PE, VC, Investor background and have demonstrable experience of financial change management / transformation.

**Responsibilities**
- Overseeing the Finance Function in this Private Equity (PE) backed Group. Mentoring and guiding the current permanent Finance Director.
- Acting as a Finance Business Partner to the CEO as well as a buffer between the CEO and the PE investor. Where appropriate leading the communication with the PE investor.
- Setting up and improving accounting systems (with assistance form the CTO), to enable the provision of timely information and visibility on the Company’s performance for both the Board and the PE investor.
- Bringing increased rigor to the compliance and control aspects of the business by implementing and improving certain Accounting processes i.e., the consolidation process.
- Developing the data analytics / financial planning & analysis capability of the team. Ensuring that all outputs and their presentation are of the highest quality.
- Adding value to, and where necessary driving specific Finance related change initiatives e.g., development of pricing and stock control mechanisms.
- Always having one eye on the future in terms of potential opportunities for growth, i.e., acquisitions, new markets, cross selling etc.

**Experience**
- An experienced CFO ideally with a larger company background followed by small and medium sized company (SME) experience, thereby being in a position to bring financial best practice to a scaling organisation.
- Exposure to private equity owned environments is essential as is financial leadership experience gained in a consumer product business (i.e., retail, wholesale, FMCG, manufacturing etc.).
- Demonstrable experience of leading a finance function in an organisation which is undergoing a significant period of change.
- Have 'rock solid’ financial accounting and reporting capabilities.
- Experience setting up meaningful systems and protocols.
- Have excellent financial modelling, business planning and reporting skills such that he / she can lead the reporting of the present and future financial position of the company to the SMT, the Board and the PE investor,
- Have good leadership and people management skills; the experience of having managed a lean and effective Finance function.
