Overview:
**Purpose of role**:
At Substance to Solution, we believe groups are a great way to engage and connect with those who use our services. Soon we will be introducing a group work package on Saturday mornings. As a Group Work Support Volunteer, you will play an instrumental role in supporting the facilitator in the planning and preparation of groups. This will include promoting groups to service users, reminding them of up-and-coming sessions and engaging with those who do not attend. You will be provided with training and support to eventually be able to take the lead in delivering some of the groups and provide one-to-one support to clients within the group setting. You will also have the opportunity to play a key role in the review and development of session materials including content, handouts and delivery.

Full training and learning opportunities will be provided.

**Responsibilities**:
**Key Activities**:

- Actively Engage with clients and staff promoting the benefits of the various groups on offer on Saturday mornings and on agreed weekdays
- Support and empower clients to consistently engage in group work sessions.
- Assist in the preparation of content and materials needed for group work sessions
- Create an appropriate and dynamic environment for a group session
- Meet and greet clients welcoming them into the group setting
- Co-facilitate groups taking a lead on activities and check in’s
- Provide 1.2.1 support where necessary within the group
- Work towards Taking a lead on delivering some groups independently
- Record group attendance on case management systems
- Contact service users who DNA re-engaging them with the group
- Play a part in the review and development of existing and new training material and delivery
