Professional Lead for Physiotherapy

BCHC is keen to appoint a Trust-wide Professional Lead Physiotherapist with a passion for furthering the Physiotherapy profession across the Trust working closely with other Trust AHP Professional leads and Divisional AHP leads. The role is fixed term for 6 months to cover maternity leave and is 0.6 WTE based at Trust Headquarters in Priestley Wharf.
The Professional Leads for each AHP profession represented in the Trust were established recently to provide consistent advice and leadership for professional issues across BCHC at an individual, team, divisional and Trust level; reduce fragmentation of the professions; encourage joint working across the profession and to ensure each profession has a strong voice at Division/ Trust levels.The role will hold responsibility for the Trust’s programme for physiotherapy workforce including apprentices, rotational posts, student education and preceptorship. In addition to this supporting the Divisions in workforce planning and working across the BSOL system are vital to the success of the role.The Professional Leads will work jointly with the Divisional Directors of Nursing and Therapies (DDNTs), the Divisional AHP Leads and the Service Leads to deliver the BCHC AHP Clinical and Professional Strategies Implementation Plan. There is close working with the Professional Development department to ensure an effective education programme.The post holder will agree the work program and annual priorities based on the needs of their professional group with the Director of Therapies and work in collaboration with DDNTs and the Divisional AHP Leads. All the Professional Leads will work together to further define and evaluate the effectiveness of this role.

Each Professional Lead will manage the BCHC wide budget for Band 5 and 6 rotational staff within their professional staff group. There is also a significant responsibility to ensure that the total professional resource is effectively and efficiently used across BCHC implementing best practice to acheve and evidence this.
The post holder will contribute to planning, developments and delivery of actions plans within the corporate nursing and therapies directorate team and across the AHP workforce including departmental financial initiatives
