The Royal College of General Practitioners is the largest membership organisation solely for GPs in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1952, it has over 54,000 members who are committed to improving patient care, developing their own skills and promoting general practice as a discipline. General practice is the largest branch of the medical profession. It provides some 1 million consultations for patients in the UK every working day and deals with 86% of the health problems experienced by the UK population.

The Governance Officer will manage the governance function of RCGP Wales, providing high quality support ensuring that the relevant committees and groups operate efficiently and effectively.

We are looking for someone with exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail and a can-do attitude. You will have previous experience of providing full administrative and governance support to committees and groups. You will:

- organise and provide a full secretariat service for the quarterly Welsh Council meetings and AGM
- provide governance support to all necessary committees and groups
- co-ordinate election, recruitment, induction (including conflict of interests) and training for new members of committees and Council.
- maintain an accurate register of all RCGP Wales committee and group members
- ensure the smooth running of the virtual Welsh Patient Forum
- organise and provide a secretariat service to other meetings as required
- respond to internal and external requests in a timely manner
- organise travel and accommodation where required.

This role will involve hybrid working with a minimum of two working days in the Cardiff office in Cardiff Bay. We offer flexible working hours Monday to Friday.
