Aberdeen WELL (Well Empowered Linked Locally) provides short-term support to people presenting in high distress. Working closely with Police Scotland, Aberdeen WELL offers support to those who come into contact with Community Police Officers and who would benefit from a compassionate and empathic response to the distress they feel. The Aberdeen WELL team are situated in Police Custody at the weekend, to provide mental health and wellbeing support to those in custody.

As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a central role in the planning and provision of a quality service, supporting people accessing Penumbra Services to access the right support, at the right time. The Senior Practitioner will provide support and supervision to the WELL team. You will work closely with the Service Manager to work on service developments and liaise with external partners within Police Scotland and NHS Grampian on a regularly basis. You will work on a shift basis, providing recovery focused support to people who use the service. You will support and empower people to achieve their personal goals and help them to connect with meaningful resources that will positively impact on their wellbeing. Demonstrating a commitment to values-base practice and as part of a wider locality team, you will support the successful implementation and delivery of high-quality services that make a positive difference to people.

Currently this post will include a blended approach of both remote working (from home and our office base) and face-to
- face working. This will be delivered virtually through video calls, telephone calls, and holding face-to-face support sessions within community and health care settings across Aberdeen City. Evening working will be a requirement of this role, and as the service is operational 7 days a week weekend working will also be required. Weekday evening shifts finish at either 10pm or midnight, and weekend shifts run from 10am-6pm. Ability to work from home, the office and within the community is essential for this role.
